Welcome
To the Braai Tax Exemption Fund raising initiative started by Braai Tax NPC, a registered non-profit company registration number 2024/280134/08, registered in the republic of South Africa. The strategy is to have ongoing fund raising by means of donations and in the future, proceeds from the sale of Braai tools, charcoal, spices and any items related to having a Braai.
Why
In February 2024, there was suggestion by various players that a tax should be implemented on those persons taking energy from the Sun via solar panels. This outrageous suggestion led to speculation that maybe the next taxation would be imposed on a favourite South African pastime, having a Braai.
To ensure that the art of having a braai is not taxed, you are invited to make a donation to our Non Profit Company in exchange for a “Braai Tax Exemption Certificate.”
The act of Braaing,
is a unique and specific South African
act of cooking meat, bread and vegetables over a fire and must not be confused with a “barbecue”.
How it works
An individual or company donates a minimum of R1000.00 and in return receives a Braai Tax Exemption Certificate, with its own unique certificate number. This certificate number will be required in the future to allow the holder of the certificate to purchase various unique and specially branded Braai Tax Exempted items to help in the act of braaing. This will include but not limited to braai Aprons, braai tongs, braai grids, braai stands, braai charcoal, braai spices, braai cutting board, braai knife, and anything related to ease the act of braaing.
The certificates are graded as follows: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The first certificate issued would be Bronze and is valid for a period of 3 years. On renewal the second certificate is Silver and is valid for a further period of 5 years. On further renewal the third certificate is Gold and is valid for a further period of 7 years. On further renewal the fourth and final certificate is Platinum and is valid for life.
In the future, certificate holders will be able to purchase unique Braai Tax Exemption items online, and the following discounts will apply:
Bronze – 0%
Silver – 5%
Gold – 10%
Platinum – 15%
Community
Beneficiaries
Beneficiaries include, but not limited to, Epilepsy South Africa, Scouts South Africa, Masonic Charity Funds, SPCA, Animal Rescue Centres, Helping Hands Dullstroom, Help Line, and any other deserving Community Social Welfare application made to Braai Tax NPC for their consideration.
